How To Get A Spa Atmosphere At Home

After a long day, there's nothing more relaxing and rewarding than a spa day. Everyone deserves a little R&R now and then but what if you don't have the time and budget to do so? Not a problem! Nowadays you can achieve the look and feel of a spa atmosphere in your home. All you need is a bit of time and a few essentials.

In this blog post, we'll share some tips on how you can easily treat yourself to a relaxing spa day in the comfort and convenience of your home.

Prepare a Book, a Cup of Tea and Scented Candles

You probably already have these essentials laying around in your room and kitchen cabinet. Grab your favorite book, magazine, podcast, anything that will keep your mind off of stress.

Prepare a cup of tea of your choice and light your favorite scented candle. Let each sip of warm tea and the soothing smell of candles relax you. Sink into your favorite chair and dive into that book you've been meaning to read.

Relax in your favorite reading spot and isolate yourself from anything that can distract your attention. You'll feel refreshed and relaxed, you can even add some soft background music to help really create a spa-like feel.

Make Fruit Infused Water

Not a fan of tea? Try fruit infused water! Refreshing with a hint of flavor, fruit infused water is sure to wake you up than just plain water, most importantly you'll feel good drinking it because your body is taking in all those nutrients from the fruits.

Most spas will offer their customers a glass of coffee, water or tea. Add a little extra finesse to an everyday glass of water with the addition of fresh fruits.

At Le Petit Spa, We like to use lemon and cucumber slices in our water but once in awhile, we'll switch it up with a mix of strawberries, orange slices, and a handful of mint leaves.

Lemon gives a fresh citrus taste while cucumber gives a more calming and cooling feel. A good balance is mixing sweet and citrus fruits together so you get the best of both flavors. The best part about drinking fruit infused water is how healthy and refreshed it makes you feel. When you go to the spa, you are doing something for yourself and your body, do the same and treat yourself to this addition in your beverage.

Stock up on New Bathroom Linens

Now that your body is relaxed on the inside, it's time to work on the body from the outside. For the fastest spa atmosphere in your home. you can visit your nearest department store and pick up the softest and coziest robe, towels, socks, and anything else you need to feel warm and relaxed.

Being able to relax in your robe or pajamas for as long as you want and not needing to share space with other people are the best advantages you can get with spa days at home. But if you like the company, stock up a few more linens, store them in the bathroom, and enjoy a spa day with the gals, or guys.

You can choose stark white linens or soothing pastels, anything that gives off a uniform and consistent appearance throughout your home will look more like a professional spa. You can display a small plant or potted aloe to really channel spa-like vibes in your home.

Make a Do-It-Yourself Face Mask

It's time to make your way to the grocery store! DIY masks can be easily made with a few simple ingredients. They may already be in your pantry.

Fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, and honey are the most common ingredients you can use to make your own face mask. These ingredients are packed with vitamins and nutrients that are beneficial for the skin, most importantly these are all 100% natural.

Mask For Dry Skin

If you have dry skin, use a fruit packed with oil such as an avocado and mix it with honey to get that rich, smooth consistency. Honey is a natural remedy for acne and helps to hydrate the skin at the same time.

Mask For Sensitive Skin

If you have sensitive skin, oatmeal is the best way to go. Oatmeal is very soothing and calming for the skin especially if you mix in honey and plain, unsweetened yogurt. Smear a generous layer over the skin and let it set for 10-15 minutes. The nutrients from the oatmeal absorb into the skin, helping to heal eczema and acne breakouts.

Mask For Oily Skin

Citrus fruits such as strawberries and lemon contain salicylic acid which helps to get rid of dead skin cells and brighten the skin. If you have oily skin, mix strawberries, lemon juice, yogurt, and honey to control excessive oil and brighten your complexion.

Mask For Razor Burn

For the men, if you get a razor burn, a mask of cucumber and Greek yogurt helps soothe the skin and also acts as a moisturizer to retain moisture, especially in cold weather.

Mask To Protect From Damage

Add a banana to any of mix mentioned above to protect your skin against damage because bananas are packed with antioxidants that do well for the skin especially if you have mature skin.

Keep in mind that you are welcome to use any mix of ingredients that work best for your skin. It's all about trial and error!

You are using all natural ingredients so the chances of adverse reactions are little to none, but just in case, gently wipe off all the mask with a face towel and rinse your skin with warm water, avoiding the eye area.
